On occasion, you might find it beneficial to find all of your contacts that lack certain data, for example a zip code. This might be useful if you are doing a mailing from your database and you want to make sure all of your contacts have a zip code.
Select Lookup (on the toolbar) | Zip Code | and on the right hand side of the search box select Empty Field and click OK. You’ll also notice there is an option called non-empty field that will do just the opposite of what I’ve just described.
Side Note: If you plan on working on the lookup (finding and adding the zip code), we suggest that you make a group out of your lookup. If you don’t, each time you add a zip code you will have changed the contact so that it no longer fits the criteria of the original lookup (all contacts without a zip code) and you will be prompted as to whether you want to continue working with that particular contact. Nothing major, but just enough to make it a pain to work on.
Tony,
Finally got around to reading this (I save your Emails for pastoral moments) and it helped me answer the question – How to I delete all those blank contacts.
Many thanks
Paul
